Duke Nguyen

Machine Learning Graduate Student

I’m a Master of Information Technology (Artificial Intelligence) graduate student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Efficient Transformer, Large Language Model (LLM), Random Fourier Features (RFF), and Kernel Methods, mentored by Dr. Aditya Joshi.

As a Research Assistant at UNSW, funded by a Google Grant, I explore bias against the LGBTQ+ community within Large Language Models (LLM), highlighting my commitment to promoting ethical AI. I also tutor COMP9417: Machine Learning and Data Mining, covering a wide range of machine learning techniques.

My background in software engineering includes expertise in system design, API development, CI/CD, DevOps, and database engineering. Previously, I contributed to the open-source community, particularly within the Crystal Language, and presented on meta-programming at the Crystal 1.0 Conference.

For a comprehensive overview of my experience and projects, please consult my resume.
